12 life lessons I learned during 2012

quote about change and learning, life lessons, quotes about life lessons#1 – Don’t say “he’s not my type.”

You really never know. Sometimes the person you least expect to end up with turns out to be the one person who will love you like no other.

#2 – It’s okay to puke after drinking.

Everyone’s done it. When you spend most of your days working hard and studying, you deserve a night of tequila shots. If afterwards you feel the urge to puke, just do it. No one cares.

#3 – Friends will drift apart.

Those “ride or die” friends you thought would be there forever may disappear. Meanwhile, you’ll build stronger relationships with a new set of friends who are at the same place in their lives and share the same interests, goals and values.

#4 – Your boss will make you feel like shit sometimes.

Not much else to say. Try not to take it too personally.

#5 – Your parents will always be your parents.

The same quirky people who gave you life and raised you will never stop “parenting” you – no matter how old you are.

#6 – Breaks come when you least expect it.

Whenever I was at the lowest point of my life and ready to throw in the towel, a new opportunity would open bringing in hope for change and improvements. This is true in all areas of your life, whether personal or professional.

#7 – Some ex-girlfriends need to be told to piss off.

Sometimes a friendly shoo doesn’t send a clear enough message to an ex who won’t leave your man alone. That’s when you need to put the bitch in her place.

#8 – Toxic people will bring you down.

They can come in the form of relatives, colleagues or those who call themselves your friends. They say they care about you and have your best interest at heart. It’s a lie. Hanging out with negative people will invite negativity into your life. Rid yourself of toxic influences. This is one of the best life lessons I can offer you.

#9 – Twelve months will disappear very quickly.

Make time for the important things in life, like spending quality time with family and friends. Do things that make you happy.

#10 – Don’t shun the possibility of a happily ever after.

Even the most cynical people will find love if the right person comes along who’s willing to crack that nut.

#11 – Stress will tear your insides apart.

It’ll disrupt your focus, concentration, sleep and overall health. Stress will very quickly show itself on your face if you don’t nip it in the butt. Learn to relax and not let stress ruin your life (and complexion).

#12 – If you’re on antibiotics always use extra contraceptives.

Antibiotics diminish the effectiveness of birth control pills. Ladies, remember that!
