A year from now you’ll wish you started today

I read an inspirational quote recently that said:

“A year from now, you’ll wish you started today”.

Right now, I’m at a place of transition. I’m not sure what the near or distant future holds for me, but I suspect major changes coming down the pipeline over the next couple of months. This makes me anxious, nervous and excited all at the same time. Considering this is a very busy time in my life (full-time workaholic, part-time student, fiancee, friend and relative), there isn’t much free time at the end of the day to dedicate to a blog.

So why now? When life is at its busiest, why start a blog now? Now

Going back to the quote above – why not? I can 100% guarantee that if I keep putting off my goals and desires until “I have more time” then the days will waste away and I still wouldn’t have done what I wanted to do.

“A year from now, you’ll wish you started today”.

There are a ton of things I wish I started a year ago – developed a dedicated workout routine, practiced healthier eating habits, cleaned my shoe closet – the list goes on. But rather than dwell on those “should have started back then” regrets, I’m going to start doing things now.

I’ve wanted to start a blog since I discovered one of my good friends started a blog to keep herself occupied while on mat leave. Her blog was my inspiration to write, not for work, but for fun again. This is my first step to doing the things I want to do – things that make me happy – and not waiting until next week, next year or someday.

My “now” starts now.

Oddly enough, I just read that same quote last week. The universe is telling you (and me) something, so it’s time to listen up!

I love the concept, design and most of all, that you’re finally doing more things that make you happy.

    I will be reading regularly!
